Zazenkai (All Day Sitting) Information
Zazenkai are open to those practicing zazen on a regular basis.  Feel free to call SMZ if you have any questions regarding this requirement. 

Dates 2007-2008:

• December 8 (Extended Zazenkai):
  Commemoration of the Buddha's Enlightenment  
• January 12
• March 8
• May 10
The April zazenkai has been replaced with a weekend sesshin in the city at the zendo, for more information click here.
Schedule for Regular Zazenkai:
Zendo opens at 8:15 AM.
Zazen begins promptly at 9:00 AM.
Zazenkai ends at 5:30 PM.
Schedule for Extended Zazenkai:
Zendo opens at 7:15 AM.
Zazen begins promptly at 8 AM.
Zazenkai ends at 9 PM.
Suggested donation:  $20 members, $35 non-members
Registration:  Call Still Mind Zendo (212-414-3128), or sign up at the zendo. 
What to bring:  Please bring your own zafu or seiza bench if you can. Zabutons (mats) and chairs are provided as are a limited number of zafus and benches. Simple refreshments are provided. Bring your lunch on extended zazenkai days (dinner provided); lunch is provided for regular zazenkai.
The day consists of  zazen/kin-hin, a formal chanting period, oryoki (formal meal in the zendo), and breaks. Two talks are given and daisan (one to one teaching ) is offered by both our teachers.
